  • We are thrilled to introduce Dr. Laura Bellstrom, a dedicated pediatrician whose diverse life experiences and passion for working with children make her an incredible asset to our community. Though Dr. Bellstrom was born in Colorado Springs, CO, she grew up in Townshend, Vermont, where she attended elementary school and began spending summers in West Dover, Vermont as a toddler. Laura's journey has taken her across the U.S., including living in Ohio, Idaho, Kentucky as a child, and later in North Carolina and Arizona, where she spent time on the Navajo Reservation as an adult. Her love for Vermont, however, came full circle as she made it her home.

When she is not caring for her patients, she enjoys an active lifestyle, which includes swimming, Nordic skiing, bike riding, walking, and hiking. She is also an avid reader and participates in a book group. Travel and exploring new places are important to her, as well as cooking and baking for her family and friends.

Dr. Bellstrom's passion for pediatrics shines through in her work. She deeply values the connections she forms with her patients and their families, and she cherishes the continuity of care that pediatrics offers-from newborns to young adults. "What I love most about my work is the ability to combine science and human service in a career," Laura shares. Her dedication to making a positive difference in children's lives is evident in her compassionate approach and her specialized areas of interest, including breastfeeding support, guidance for new parents, and advocacy for children with special or complicated health needs. She is also passionate about adolescent health care and works diligently to coordinate care for patients with complex medical needs.

Dr. Bellstrom's family is a key source of support and inspiration in her life and career. She credits her upbringing and the strength of her supportive family with shaping who she is today. She and her husband, Pat-who has also dedicated his career to children and adolescents in education-are proud parents to two amazing sons, Zach, and Conner. She hopes her patients and their families recognize the importance of a strong, supportive network, as she has experienced firsthand how such connections can positively influence health and well-being. She understands that these networks can take many different forms and values the unique ways in which each family or community provides support.
