Beginnings is affiliated with Timber Lane Pediatrics and offers classes for expectant parents. Beginnings’ classes include: Preparation for Childbirth, Preparation for Breastfeeding, Infant Care, Pediatric CPR, Big Sister Big Brother Sibling Preparation, Refresher in Childbirth, and VBAC. Each course offers participants relevant, up-to-date information necessary in making informed decisions about pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.

Dr. Aronzon is originally from Poughkeepsie, NY. She completed her undergraduate degree at Princeton University and her medical degree at the University of Rochester. Her pediatric residency was at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. Following residency, Dr Aronzon worked as a pediatrician in Staunton, VA. She then returned to the University of Rochester, where she worked as a pediatric fellow and as an instructor in the resident clinic and pediatric emergency room. Her special interests include newborn care, infectious disease and advocacy. Dr Aronzon enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter as well as tennis, outdoor activities, cooking and travel. She will be working at our North Avenue office.

Katie Chaucer was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. She completed her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing, she was the third generation in her family to attend the IU School of Nursing. Katie was a traveling Pediatric Intensive Care Unit nurse for many years until she met her Vermonter husband in Seattle, WA. She received her Pediatric Primary Care Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Boston College in 2022. Katie enjoys the variety that comes with being a primary care provider. Her interests span from helping new parents as a Certified Lactation Counselor to helping emerging adults navigate the world. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring Vermont by bike, ski, or kayak and getting cozy by cooking, reading, and knitting.

Dr. Scott Cohen is originally from Bangor, Maine. He completed his undergraduate education at University of Vermont and his medical degree at Tufts University in 1989. He then moved to Oakland Children’s Hospital in California for pediatric residency and remained in the Bay Area for the next 33 years. His career included hospital pediatric medicine as well as outpatient primary care. He enjoyed teaching medical students and residents throughout his career in California. In 2002, Dr. Cohen founded Global Pediatric Alliance, an NGO that trains indigenous midwives and health workers in remote parts of Latin America. Dr. Cohen’s clinical interests include global health, lifestyle medicine, and preventive care. In 2022, he moved to South Burlington with his wife and two children. He enjoys playing music, hiking in the Green Mountains, swimming, and winter sports.

Gussie Logan is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a native Vermonter. She earned her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Vermont in 2019 while working as an RN at Timber Lane Pediatrics. Gussie then practiced as a NP for two years at a pediatric practice in Southern Vermont before returning to Timber Lane Pediatrics in the fall of 2021. She enjoys spending time with her husband and baby, being active outdoors, running, biking, hiking and is an avid baker. Gussie always knew she wanted to care for the pediatric population and finds her strengths are making connections with patients and families.

Alicia Veit, MD joined Timber Lane Pediatrics in 2008 shortly after completing her residency at the University of Vermont based on a strong desire to remain in such a committed pediatric community. Originally from Philadelphia, she graduated from Bowdoin College in Maine (1998) and then continued her education at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine (2004) after working briefly in public health. She now lives in Hinesburg with her husband James Ulager, a family physician, and their two young daughters. She is a general pediatrician whose areas of interest range from early childhood development to adolescence. She believes strongly in preventive medicine, health education, and working in partnership with families, schools and community agencies. In her free time, she tries to be outside as much as possible, hiking and canoeing, and more recently, exploring every playground in Chittenden County at the request of her toddler.
